š¤What is it?
It is a way of eating whereby you split the day into eating and āfastingā periods.
ā”ļøFasting has been a practice throughout human evolution. Ancient hunter-gatherers didnāt have supermarkets, refrigerators or food available year-round. Sometimes they couldnāt find anything to eat. As a result, humans evolved to be able to function without food for extended periods of time.
ā¢
Some of the more common methods are 16:8, or 5:2. These involve fasting for 16 hours and eating within a window of 8 hours (effectively skipping breakfast, (16:8)) or eating a reduced amount of calories for 2 days and then normally for the other 5 days (5:2).
ā”ļøBy reducing your calorie intake, all of these methods should cause weight loss as long as you donāt compensate by eating much more during the eating periods. In fact, fasting from time to time is more natural than always eating 3ā4 (or more) meals per day.

Is it for you?
ā¢
You can only try it and see;
āļølisten to your body, āļøsee how you feel, āļømonitor your energy levels, āļøeat quality, wholesome food during your eating periods, āļø stay well hydrated, āļø it is not starvation, āļø if in doubt speak to your GP or healthcare professional
